Ever had the feeling of giving up? Just want to throw in the towel. Of course we have. Life brings to everyone daily uncertainties and surprises. We think something will turn out this way, and it turns out that way. We have goals since high school graduation, and fifteen years later we still have the same goals that seem unattainable.
Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;). When we have goals and dreams or a vision for life or the future and it seems like it’s taking forever to get here; to become a reality, the Word says that we should hold fast and progress in faith. We must believe. We cannot concentrate on the mental illness or the conflict; the arguments or the pain. We must look to God, and pray. As we pray, we walk with God as in having faith and continue to believe as we are on our journey.
We must believe that if we stand, that our vision will not perish; but we will have better than we would have hoped for. God is faithful and He promised happiness to His children. Happiness entails the fruits of the Spirit.
Many times people think that happiness is the money, the assets, the bank account. Happiness is the peace of God; that no matter what we have or do not have, there are more important issues such as health and family. When we stand on the promises of God, we will have the things that truly count in this world; in our lives. Praises Be To The Lord.

Ladies, do you ever feel like you are running a race? Get ready, get set, go! You hear the sound of the mark go off and off you go. The Word of God says in Philippians 3:14, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Now bear in mind that Philippians 3:16 says, “Nevertheless whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.” Ladies if we are to walk as if we have already attained the prize or in the prize that we have already attained, why are we racing?
The Word of God says that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. The bottom line is that we should always press toward the goal that God has called us to. Since God has called every one of us to a different ministry, there should be no competition, no race. We are to press toward the prize in a humble manner, in obedience to the Father, obeying every assignment that God has given us. God does not give anyone the same assignment; because we all have unique gifts, unique ministries.
Two people might have a gift of singing but the assignment from God is different for each person or ministry on how it should be achieved. When we press to win the prize in which God has called us to, we should be reaching for Him to give us the prize; God’s hand to our hand. God will not give anyone else what He is handing over or giving us. He is the hand that is not shortened. Isaiah 59:1 says, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear.” The Word says that we should live up to what we have already attained. The Lord will lead us to the rest; He gives us a little at a time. So there should be no race; only our own.
The Bible says, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2Timothy 4:7). In 2Tim.4:8, the Bible says, “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”
He is calling us to a heavenly calling to take part in spreading the Great Commission. There are pricipalities and powers in the air ruling in certain places, Ephesians 6:12. So God speaks to His ministers or the called according to His purpose. No one knows what God has told us except us and the Father, and we should walk in that manner for what we have attained through Christ’s power and wait for our next assignment.
One of the really good traits on running a race is to be still, take a rest, a break, a breather. Get a drink of water. John 7:38 says, “He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Amen.
